Custom Design Cloth Napkins

With a few simple steps we were able to turn plain white cloth napkins into another unique addition to our lovely brunch affair!

Materials Needed:

iron

cloth napkins

iron-on/transfer paper

computer/printer

scissors

hard surface

The first step is to print your design on your transfer paper.  Follow instructions on the paper packaging.  Be sure to print a mirror-image. Try www.graphicsfairy.com for designs.
Cut out your design close to the edge. Solid shapes are easier to work with and yield the best results.

Place your design face-down on your napkin.  You must work on a hard-surface.
Be sure to consult the instructions of your transfer paper.

Hold your pattern so it will not shift when you place the iron on top.

Our transfer paper required us to push down very hard for 20 seconds and then completely lift the iron and replace it for 20 more seconds.
Do not wiggle the iron or it may smudge your design.

Peel off the paper backing in one swoop.  Be careful & make sure the design is secureto the fabric first.  You may have to iron again.
Our paper told us to peel while warm for a matte finish and peel while cool for a glossy finish.

Dessert and flowers….. two of our favorite things!  Add some coffee and we are on cloud nine.  This dining room looked much different 12 years ago.  It was dark and dreary to say the least, but with a coat of paint and a new light fixture it began to have a whole new personality.  I decided to use a mix of old and new when choosing the right dining room set.  I purchase the crisp white pedestal table from IKEA, then paired it with some old chippy chairs I found at tag sales.  I chose 2 slightly more formal chairs to go with 4 fun side chairs.  All 6 chairs cost me less than $100.  The rest of the decor has about the same theme, crisp white ceramic pieces beside a chippy and rusty tin….matches made in heaven:).  Hope you enjoy!!!
