A Twin’s Nursery

We are so excited to share this beautiful nursery with you today!  One of our dear friends is expecting twins very soon and we recently attended her baby shower.  Kim came prepared with her camera as we knew the nursery would be amazing!  We were right!!! The mother-to-be, Lindsay, is one of the most talented, and beautiful {inside and out} ladies we know.  Take a look at this beautiful nursery this little brother and sister will be coming home to!!

It almost made us want to have more babies!!  Almost….

Lindsay achieved the perfect balance of feminine and masculine for this little duo.  The rugged cowboy boots were from her husbands childhood and they couldn’t be any cuter.

We love how she removed the closet doors to create a space for the changing table {a piece that she had previously used in her dining room}.  Her beautiful ribbon banner adds just the right touch of whimsey.

We can’t wait to share more of Lindsay’s home with you in the future!

This little girls room oozes femininity, whimsey, and awe…Designed for 4-year-old twins, this room is double the fun! Full of soft, delicate florals and creative storage solutions for all of their little girl stuff.

Bachman’s IDEA House Bed and Bath

If you are fortunate enough to live in the Twin Cities, the Bachman’s Idea House is a must-go!

Bachman’s is a floral, gift and garden store with a location that also has a 1900′s house on the property.  They have brilliantly used the house to host several tours throughout the year.  In these tours, the rooms are decorated differently each time, with fresh and inventive decorating ideas plus a beautiful way to incorporate great taste using recycled materials.  Here are some photo of our most recent trip to the Spring Ideas tour.  There is way too much eye candy for one post so we will feature a different set of rooms every other day.  Look closely at everything…there are so many ideas in each room!

February

When choosing which room to feature this month, we decided that my spring bedroom {aka “my LOVE nest”} was a great choice to share with you all!  As an Interior Designer, I’m able to get my decorating fixes through my clients homes and rarely seem to change up my own decor.  My bedrooms however, is one room I like to change up with the season.  It’s the room people see the least, but is the room I seem to love the most.  So here is a sneak peak of what you will see this month!  We’ve got some fun and simple DIYs that we hope will inspire you and ease you into spring!!!  Kim also has created some fabulous Valentine printables that you are sure to love!!!  Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

{Oh and yes… little miss Josie decided to be in our shoot this month!}

Organize your Bedroom Storage

Without a dream walk-in closet, it takes some creativity when figuring out storage in your bedroom.  Below we’ve shared a few ideas from Natalie’s Bedroom.  She’s taken 2 small Shabby Chic baskets from Target and fit them perfectly under a cute little white bench to store socks.  The darling bench has a hinged top which has become the home to all the love notes and cards she receives from her husband and 3 young sons.  She has used a child sized coat tree that she bought at a yard sale for $15 to hang her favorite scarves and hats from.  And recently she gave a new look to an old pine trunk she received when she was a young girl which is the perfect home for her winter sweaters.  {Trunk makeover tutorial to come!}

Organize Your Bedroom and Jewelry

We both own 100+ year old homes so storage is always an issue for us.  We can only dream of the walk-in closets that often come with new homes, but for now we make what we have work.  We love to take our everyday decor and give it a function.  Below you’ll see a few great ways to house and display some of your favorite jewelry pieces.  We took an antique bottle that we found at a flea market for $10 and draped a collection of necklaces from it.  Also, these three little birds on stands worked great to hang bracelets from.  This allows your jewelry to be out in the open rather than tangled up in a box where it can be easily forgotten.

 Here are a few other fun jewelry storage ideas we found on Pinterest!
