The Oronoco Shopping Adventure

Well after our picking adventure on the way down to Oronoco, we were all rev’d up and ready to go for Oronoco’s Gold Rush!!  We were up and at ‘em at 6am!  If you knew us, you’d know that this is not a time of day we see very often… to say we like our sleep is an understatement.  It’s amazing how coffee, a hotel breakfast buffet, and a flea market can get us out of bed?!

When we arrived downtown Oronoco, we were a bit overwhelmed.  It’s like nothing we’d ever seen.  The streets were lined with vendors {400 vendors and 1,200 antique and collectable booths} and the place was swarming with eager shoppers like ourselves.  Check out the great pictures Kim captured throughout the day.

Oh and did we mention the food???  Oh my… corn dogs, cheese curds, corn on the cob, lemonade, and an amazing homemade ice cream sandwich!  Let’s just say we were moving a bit slower by the end of the day…

But even after all the amazing junk we saw and food we ate, one of the best parts of the day was chatting with the talented Ki Nassauer!  Ki is the editor-in-chief of Flea Market Style Magazine and lucky for us, we were able to pick up the latest issue at her Junk Bonanza booth!!  It is packed FULL with great stories and photography for living the flea market lifestyle!  Be sure to pick up your own!!!

Can’t wait to see Ki and her crew at the Junk Bonanza in Sept.!!!

Well thanks for letting us share our Oronoco Gold Rush adventure with you!

We hope you have a great day!

admin - We are just shoppers, but perhaps someday vendors! How about you?

Bartemous Black - Are you a vendor at Junk Bonanza or a shopper? See you there either way! Can’t wait.

admin - That’ll be a future post Danielle! Thanks for the reminder!!

Danielle - You never told us what you bought there? Hopefully to come! The pictures were amazing, as does the event look! I just moved away from the cities after my whole life there and am so sad to miss Junk Bonanza this year – the photo ops and creative inspiration. I hope to live through you guys and your beautiful photography! Let me know if you ever need a place to stay in the DC area! There’s lots of fun antique farmland and fun places out here too, plus 30 miles from DC! :)
