For the Love of a Coffee Table

One thing I’m pretty set on is that every sofa needs a coffee table in front of it.  It completely finishes off a seating arrangement.  It invites you to get more comfy and put your feet up, or to sit down and enjoy a beverage…but use a coaster!  We decide to use the simple birch coffee table my client already had in this room, but updated it with a coat of satin black spray paint and slightly distressed it.  I topped it off with a tray to hold a few accessories, remotes, coasters, etc..  I love to use a tray on coffee and dining tables.  It helps to group an arrangement but also collects items that can often be lost (remotes).  Here is a fun tray I found at TJ Maxx that was under $15.  I love its vintage rustic feel.

Here is a fun idea Kim came up with f0r a tray.  She took a little wooden checkerboard that she found at a yard sale and added simple bin pulls for handles.  So Cute!!

Here are some other fun tray ideas we found on PINTEREST.  Hope you enjoy!

Catie - I have to have a coffee table. We didn’t have one for a little while when our daughter was just learning to walk, and I hated it! And trays, love them. We have a large cushioned ottoman as our coffee table, so a tray on it is a must. I also have a tray on my kitchen counter that holds a couple canisters, tea and a sugar bowl. I tried the same things on the counter with no tray and it looked weird. It needed the tray to anchor it all down. Great post!
