Memorial Day is a very meaningful day for me. My first child was born today 10 years ago and I come from a long line of military men. My grandfather was in the Navy from the time he could enlist until they kicked him out from old age. He was a true hero. He never talked much to us about it all but I learned from so many other puzzle pieces that his life was saved by and built on the foundations of the Navy and his life serving our country. I have just started going through my grandfather’s slides that feature his ships, my young grandmother and his extraordinary travels and experiences. I am so grateful to him, my father who also served, and all of the others that value our American Freedom by serving in the past or serving still today. Thank you for your service. I will not forget and do my best to honor you all in any way I can.
