Last June, our family traveled cross country to celebrate my sister’s wedding. It was more fun than we could have ever dreamed. My sister and brother-in-law live in Santa Cruz but decided to get married in OR where he was from. My mom and I reluctantly gave in to a destination wedding, but only with the agreement that we could have an outdoor reception later that summer at my parents. They agreed… We got to celebrate their union all over again in August and the day was perfect!! Kim of course was there to photograph the event for them so we thought we’d share it with you!
Here they are down on the St.Croix River where Greg proposed to her the summer before.
Lots of kissing…
Here’s her beautiful dress and shoes.
My collection of faux milk glass vases were perfect for the wild flower bouquets I put together. These darling vintage hankie banners were beautiful with the white tents.
Here is a small cake I made for the bride and groom. I used my favorite Vintage White Cake with Buttercream Frosting. I decorated it with fresh flowers then used the necklace that I wore in their wedding for more embellishment. We are a family that loves to dance so my dad built a dance floor the day before out of plywood and 2x4s. It got lots of use!
It truly was the perfect day! We’ll be sharing more outdoor party ideas in the next week so get your party hats on!! Have a great week!!!
