Lincoln’s Retreat…A Boy’s Room

When making Lincoln’s Room into his own we faced many challenges…the 100 year old walls of uneven plaster, logistics of the radiator, etc.  We really wanted Lincoln to feel like his room is his sanctuary.  We painted the walls a dark chocolate brown to cover the imperfections of the walls {without having to do an overhaul of the walls} and hung a small shelf above the radiator {which would otherwise be wasted space}.  We incorporated all of his favorite things…cars, airplanes and big metal toys!

Here are some of the other things we did to the room and they will all be featured this month…

DIY:

1. A shadowbox made from a vintage Typesetting Drawer and my hubby’s childhood matchbox cars

2. Photo collages made with mismatched frames and photos taken at a local museum

3. Globe lights

4. Plain onsies made into adorable baby gifts

5.  An oar with painted number embellishments

Recipes:

1. Homemade Chalk

2.  Easy Smoothies

Fabulous Finds:

1. Vintage typewriter

2. The furniture
